Agentis pulls product costs and COGS from QuickBooks Online into its margin engine, enabling real-time margin enforcement at Shopify Plus checkout for growing DTC brands that use QuickBooks as their accounting system.
Agentis connects to QuickBooks Online via the Intuit API to read product cost records, inventory valuation, and COGS data. When a Shopify Plus order enters checkout, Agentis queries the most recent product cost from QuickBooks, combines it with freight zone and payment fee estimates, and evaluates the order against the configured margin floor. Cost updates in QuickBooks are reflected in checkout evaluations within minutes.
Agentis integrates with QuickBooks Online via the Intuit Developer API (v3). Authentication uses OAuth2 with the com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting scope (read-only). Product costs are pulled from the Item object's unitPrice and averageCost fields. Sync runs on a configurable polling interval (default 10 minutes). All API calls are rate-limited per Intuit's minor version governance and logged for audit compliance.
By default, Agentis only reads cost data from QuickBooks. Optionally, you can enable a write-back that logs margin enforcement events as QuickBooks journal notes for finance review.
Agentis reads the unitPrice and averageCost fields from QuickBooks Item records. You can configure which cost method to prioritize, and Agentis supports custom fields if your QuickBooks implementation uses them.
Agentis works with QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced (which include inventory tracking). Simple Start does not include inventory, so cost sync is limited to product price fields rather than inventory COGS.
